9th Grade/New BTW Magnet Student Orientation

 

Media Specialist                                                          

  • Set up LMC.                                      
  • Hook students.                                                                                               
  • Divide into groups.          
  • Teach information skills.                     
  • Monitor and facilitate activities.               
  • Grade activites.                   

 

Classroom Teacher 

  • Content input.      
  • Go over class visit rubric w/students.
  • Instruct students to bring pencil.
  • Tell students that activites will be graded.
  • Help with technology needs. (Clickers!)
  • Input student grades in STI.
  • Fill out evaluation of lesson.   

 

INITIAL VISIT / Reading Room:   Getting to know you.... Locating resources...  

 

Group Activity:  Students will introduce themselves to other group member, find books from each Dewey Decimal category, fill out group handout and explain to classmates how these books will help them survive high school. 

 

  • Student Activity:   Students will label a library map. 
  • Homework:  Montgomery Public Library card forms.   

 

FOLLOW-UP VISIT: 

 

  • Student Activity:   Students will complete online scavenger hunt. 
  • Homework:  Montgomery Public Library card forms.   

 

 

Students will explore:

  • eBooks
